Lonely Planet sums it all well for her description of Jordan: “A safe haven in a region of conflict, Jordan has delighted visitors for centuries with its world heritage sites, friendly towns and inspiring desert landscapes”.

Bordered by war-torn countries with Syria in the north and Iraq in the east as well as power-rich countries such as Israel in the west and Saudi Arabia in the south, Jordan stands strongly and peacefully amid her neighbours.

The world heritage sites and historical monuments are so well preserved and the weathered deserts are still so mystically charming that impress even the most jaded and well-travelled visitors.

The Dead Sea and Red Sea glitter in their own rights too and are not less charming than their desert cousins.

For an alluring taste of the Middle East, make Jordan your first stop!
