Yuanyang (元阳) rice terraces, located on the southern slopes of Ailao Mountain in Yuanyang County (part of Honghe Hani Autonomous Prefecture) and located in the south of Yunnan Province has been a masterpiece of the ingenuity of the Hani people for generations.

Claimed to be the world’s largest and most spectacular one, the rice terraces are crafted out by bare hands by the Hani people one thousand years ago and is still in use today. Yuanyang Rice Terrace is a self-sustaining ecosystem. During winter to early spring, the entire field is irrigated with spring water from the forest above to rejuvenate and getting prepared for the next season. The Hani people have repeated this for more than a thousand years.

In this photography trip, you will put your photography skills to good use as we venture into Yuanyang three major scenic areas: shooting areas: Duoyishu scenic area, Bada scenic area and Laohuzui (the Tiger Mouth) scenic area. So many terraces set among vast forests, topped by an ocean of clouds create a magical, magnificent view.

We will end off the trip by taking part in the Long Table Banquet in Lüchun where more than 300 families in the village would present banquet of 300-odd tables. Villagers and tourists from other places may sit down to taste Hani food while enjoying songs and dances by the Hani people, men and women, elderly and young.

Photography with food, there is no better combination! Come, join us on this life-time experience trip where you will be rewarded with great fun.
